Inselspital, Julie-von-Jenner-Haus (Children’s Hospital), Ettore Rossi Auditorium, Friday, 11 September 2026, 08:00am – 04.30pm
Swiss Emergency Medicine Day 2026 will highlight key challenges in emergency medicine—from operations under extreme conditions to evidence-based updates for everyday clinical practice.
A key focus is the analysis of complex response scenarios, using the tragedy in Crans-Montana as an example, across the entire care continuum: from pre-hospital triage and in-hospital initial care during mass casualty incidents to specialized follow-up treatment.
Other topics include emergency medicine in resource-limited settings and intensive care strategies for critically ill patients. Additionally, the program offers practical updates on topics such as the evaluation of dizziness, massive pulmonary embolism, polytrauma, and the integration of intensive care in the emergency center.
Experts from Switzerland and abroad present current evidence and concrete recommendations for action. Interactive workshops deepen practical skills (REBOA, difficult airway, CEUS, FOAM).
The congress also promotes exchange, networking, and the further development of emergency medicine.
